Examines the role of information technology (IT) in supporting an organization’s operations, strategy, and change efforts. The course offers a comprehensive review of modern information technology architectures covering current approaches to the organization and management of computer technology, telecommunications, data organization, and information system applications. Major emphasis is given to the critical role that computer technology and information systems methodology play in the re-design of business processes under different organizational settings. The course makes extensive use of case scenarios to describe and to research further some issues involved in the planning, development, and implementation of streamlined organizational processes and information system applications. Some modules may involve the hands-on use of personal computers.
