Alcoholism/Chemical Dependency Treatment Service Program Certificate

AVAILABLE
ONLINE

The Alcoholism/Chemical Dependency Treatment Services Program Certificate (A/CDTSP) provides treatment professionals - from direct care counselors to program directors - with a focused, skill-building curriculum to promote successful delivery of substance abuse and dependency treatment. Offered by University of Massachusetts Boston and the Division of Corporate, Continuing, and Distance Education, A/CDTSP is comprehensive, structured to serve the widest possible audience, and strengthened by the academic community of UMass Boston.

The on-campus program began over 20 years ago and continues to attract students from across the state to its three campuses in Boston, Framingham, and Plymouth. This program is now being offered online, making the highest quality addictions education available, nationally and internationally, to individuals seeking to begin or advance their careers in the treatment of alcohol and chemical dependence.

A/CDTSP students bring to the program a rich array of life experiences and educational backgrounds ranging from high school diplomas to doctoral degrees, each student seeking to pursue improved skills, certification and/or licensure.

Addictions affect every aspect of our society and, therefore, students representing all professions, from clergy to police officers to nurses, are drawn to our program. Addiction knows no cultural bounds, and our classrooms reflect that diversity. Addictions exempt no gender, no age, no class; our students are men and women ranging in age from their early twenties through retirement. The vast majority of our students complete our program and go on to find employment in the addictions field.

Now, with the recent approval of licensure for addictions professionals, the University of Massachusetts Boston A/CDTSP program is of even greater value to those seeking licensure and those seeking continuing education hours (CEUs) to maintain licensure.
